Elimu LLC ("we", "us", or "our") operates the ImPasse mobile application (the "App"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our App.

1. Information Collection and Use

ImPasse is designed as a local-first password manager. We prioritize your privacy and security by minimizing data collection.

Data You Provide

While using our App, you may provide us with certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to your username and the credentials (passwords, URLs, notes) you store in your vault.

Local Encryption

All sensitive data, including your passwords and vault keys, are encrypted locally on your device using industry-standard encryption (AES-GCM). We do not have access to your Master Password or the decrypted contents of your vault.

2. Use of Device Permissions

To provide its functionality, the App requires the following permissions:

• Biometric Hardware: Used solely to allow you to unlock your vault using your fingerprint or face recognition. Your biometric data is handled by the Android system and never leaves your device or becomes accessible to the App.
• Storage (Read/Write): Used to export and import your encrypted vault data for backup purposes at your request.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored locally in a secure database (SQLCipher) on your mobile device. We do not transmit your vault data to our servers.

4. Security

The security of your data is important to us. However, please remember that no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

5. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
